Enhance Your Cupping Technique With MWax Original Lotion

THE BENEFITS OF CUPPING

As practitioners, many of you already use cupping therapy to enhance the therapeutic benefits for your clients. This ancient Eastern practice involves the use of suction cups to create negative pressure to aid in the release of tension, improve circulation, detoxify the body and promote relaxation.

Cupping is a simple application of quick, vigorous, rhythmical strokes to stimulate muscles and is particularly helpful in the treatment of aches and pains associated with various diseases. Thus, cupping carries the potential to enhance the quality of life. (AlBedah A et al., 2012, as cited by Al-Bedah AMN, et al., 2018)

This technique can effectively alleviate muscle tightness, reduce inflammation, and enhance overall well-being. Its ability to target specific areas of concern allows therapists to address a wide range of conditions, from chronic pain to sports injuries, with precision and efficacy.

 CLINICAL RESEARCH

Cupping therapy has been shown to increase blood flow to the desired area, by causing rupture of capillaries on the skin surface. 8,10 (Chi et al, 2016, as cited in Dalton EL, Velasquez BJ, 2017). (Cupping Resource, 2017, as cited in Dalton EL, Velasquez BJ, 2017).

This is thought to increase blood flow to the injured area and help in the healing process by bringing oxygenated blood and nutrients to the damaged tissue. (Cao H, 2012, as cited in Dalton EL, Velasquez BJ, 2017), (Chi et al., 2016, as cited in Dalton EL, Velasquez BJ, 2017).

Additional benefits from cupping therapy is pain relief from musculoskeletal conditions such as low back, neck and shoulder pain, pain from herpes zoster, hypertension, fibromyalgia, facial paralysis, cervical spondylosis and stroke rehabilitation.(Cao H, 2012, as cited in Dalton EL, Velasquez BJ, 2017), (Chi et al., 2016, as cited in Dalton EL, Velasquez BJ, 2017).

Chi et al. (Chi et al, 2016, as cited in Dalton EL, Velasquez BJ, 2017), reviewed the effectiveness of cupping therapy on neck and shoulder pain. Their study utilized acupuncture points in cup placement and examined skin surface temperature differences using an infrared camera before, during and after cupping treatment.

Their conclusions found that cupping provided an analgesic effect with little negative side effects and the treatment was easy to learn, easy to administer and patient outcomes were positive for pain relief.
